Where Is the Outrage, and Action, in the Arab World Over China's Uyghur Genocide?
China has succeeded in recruiting non-democratic governments to deny that it is carrying out a genocide against Muslim minorities.
In early January 2023, a diverse group of leading Yemeni officials, experts, academics, stakeholders and policymakers gathered in Washington to discuss how best to reach a permanent cease-fire and build lasting peace and democracy in Yemen, after more than eight years of war. They were brought together for a conference co-hosted by the Tawakkol Karman Foundation, DAWN and the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University. Panelists provided unique analysis of the myriad issues facing Yemen and policy recommendations for a peaceful and inclusive transition to democracy, as well as the steps that Yemenis and the international community should take to rebuild the country. Featured papers from the conference have now been published in DAWN's journal, Democracy in Exile.
