(Washington, D.C., October 29, 2025) — In response to reports of mass killings by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in el-Fasher, Sudan, DAWN issues the following statement:
"The lack of accountability for Israel's genocide in Gaza has opened the door wide for other criminals to commit similar acts of extermination with impunity," said Raed Jarrar, DAWN's advocacy director. "When the world's most powerful governments enable one genocide without consequence, they send an unmistakable signal to perpetrators everywhere that mass atrocities will be tolerated. The RSF's massacre in el-Fasher is the direct result of this global failure to enforce international law and hold war criminals accountable."
"Although the United States itself declared the RSF's actions in Sudan a genocide in January 2025, it has utterly failed to stop its allies, the UAE in particular, from sending the weapons fueling these atrocities," said DAWN Senior Advisor Charles Blaha. "The UAE has continued arming the RSF with advanced drones and other weapons systems even after giving assurances to the U.S. that it would cease such support. The International Criminal Court should investigate UAE officials for aiding and abetting genocide in Sudan."
