(Washington, D.C., October 17, 2025) — In response to the the UN Human Rights Office in the Occupied Palestinian Territory report that Israel Defense Forces and Israeli paramilitary settler forces have killed 1,001 Palestinians, including over 200 children, in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023, DAWN issues the following statement:
"The same Israeli forces commiting genocide in Gaza have been simultaneously carrying out extrajudicial killings, indiscriminate attacks on civilians, and other war crimes in the West Bank," said Michael Schaeffer Omer-Man, DAWN's Israel-Palestine director. "Israel's illegal occupation did not end with the Trump ceasefire, and U.N. member states have an obligation to impose sanctions and cease arms transfers on Israel until it does."
"The killing of 1,001 Palestinians in the West Bank since October 7, 2023 is a stark reminder that a ceasefire agreement in Gaza will do nothing to address the reckless violence of Israel's security forces and the terror they inflict on Palestinians," said Raed Jarrar, DAWN's advocacy director. "The international community should hold Israel accountable for its crimes in both Gaza and the West Bank, or this carnage will never end."
